North Norfolk Coast Path near Blakeney in the summer sunshine.
These flowers and leaves became almost silhouetted in the sunshine, hidden in the undergrowth on the banks of the coastal path. Each side of the path was very different as one side floods with the tide, and the other was more managed and farmed.

Inspiration and subject matter for Miranda Brookes’ current work reflect the British landscape tradition, especially the watercolours of Turner, Cotman and Constable; their landscape and seascapes. Her local environment of Charnwood has proved to be a significant source for her work and echoes deeper concerns for our natural environment generally.
