There are two species of hippos in Africa, with this one being on the vulnerable end of the scale. Weighing up to 3.5 tonnes and living up to 50 years, this herbivore inhabits the rivers and swamps of East Africa. The main threats away from predators are poaching for their ivory and habitat loss. It is vital to protect the hippo from further decline, as their place in the wetland ecosystems of Africa is crucial.

The Critical Critters Suite is a collection of 24 signed, limited edition, de-bossed prints dedicated to critically endangered animals, insects, fish and birds.

Paper size - 69 x 56 cm.
