View from the North Norfolk Coast Path near Blakeney looking over the marshland in summer.
The extensive marshes were filled with small plants and flowers. The vegetation details of this landscape looking out towards Blakeney Point can be exposed or flooded depending on the time of day and year. The contrast with the grey sky during the day to the bright, vivid sunsets provide two very different scenes.

Inspiration and subject matter for Miranda Brookes’ current work reflect the British landscape tradition, especially the watercolours of Turner, Cotman and Constable; their landscape and seascapes. Her local environment of Charnwood has proved to be a significant source for her work and echoes deeper concerns for our natural environment generally.
