Relatively little is recorded on Gerald Cooper. He attended the RCA, gaining the drawing prize in 1925. He worked as a painter, sculptor and teacher. He became principal of Wimbledon School of Art. He was known for his meticulous flower drawings in the style of the Old Masters. Striped Lily is a typical example of his work.
