Jock McFadyen, born 1950 in Paisley, Scotland, describes himself as a realist, and his intense paintings and prints describe the urban backdrop. As a teenager he attended the Glasgow School of Art and then, after moving to London, Chelsea School of Art. McFadyen has exhibited his work all over the world and has work in many major public and private collections, including Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, British Museum, Tate Gallery, The National Gallery, V&A Museum, Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow.
