Goldmark is thrilled to announce the opening of a new exhibition by the internationally celebrated potter Nic Collins, opening on 23 November 2024 in Uppingham. This marks the fifth major showcase of Collins’ work at Goldmark, bringing together a collection of the very best of the work that he has produced over the last 4 years.
Nic Collins is widely regarded as one of the foremost wood-firers of his generation. Known for his dedication to evolving his craft, Collins continually pushes the boundaries of firing and kiln techniques to achieve a distinctive beauty in his work. An uncompromising artist, his pieces reflect a raw intensity and sophistication that invite viewers into a deeper appreciation of form and technique.
For those unable to attend in person, we will be offering our comprehensive digital experience, including a filmed exhibition walk-through, meet the artist chat, and a complete online catalogue of the exhibition pieces available for purchase. Since the start of the pandemic, these guided online tours and artist conversations have been immensely popular, and we look forward to bringing Collins’ last 4 years' work to a global audience again.
Additionally, a 64-page monograph featuring photographs of the exhibition pieces and an insightful essay by Janne Greasley will be available at the gallery and on our website.
