From The School Prints series. A set of 24 lithographs produced in the 1940's with the intention of bringing contemporary art to young children. Printed in England at the Baynard Press.

Price shown is for unframed print.
Topolski studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art (1927-32). He came to London in 1935 and was naturalised in 1947. He had worked as a political cartoonist in Poland and came to the fore in Britain for his reportage. He recorded the Blitz, published many sketchbooks and did murals, designs for the theatre and countless illustrations for magazines and newspapers. His flamboyant and sketchy This England, depicting an English crowd and parade with Churchill in the centre, although colourfully symbolic and with a swaggering energy, might have meant little to young children.
