Marc Quinn PortraitMarc Quinn is a contemporary British artist working predominantly in sculpture. He has become notorious as one of the enfants terribles in the group known as the Young British Artists, and his work is renowned for his use of unusual materials such as blood, ice and human faeces. Quinn studied art history at Cambridge before becoming an assistant to the Welsh sculptor Barry Flanagan.

Quinn is best known for his works ‘Self’, a frozen sculpture of the artist’s head formed from his own blood; ‘Garden’, a commission from Miuccia Prada, in which a whole garden of plants were frozen in cryogenic suspension; and ‘Siren’, a sculpture of Kate Moss made from 18 carat gold. He has exhibited in one-man-shows internationally and his works are held in collections all over the world.
