This is the original 1938 lithograph and is not to be confused with the modern giclée reprint.

Contemporary Lithographs Ltd 1937-38. These prints differ from some of the school prints and some other poster prints in as much as they were original works in their own right and not lithographically reproduced images of paintings. This lithograph comes from the second series in March 1938.

This is number 13 in series two of Contemporary Lithographs which consists of 25 different lithographs by various artists.
Vanessa Bell PortraitBritish painter and designer. She married Clive Bell in 1907 and like him and her sister, Virginia Woolf, was a central figure of the Bloomsbury Group.

Her early work, up to about 1910, and her paintings produced after the First World War are tasteful and fairly conventional, in the tradition of the New English Art Club, but in the intervening years she was briefly in the vanguard of progressive ideas in British art.
