    Great music from great musicians in the most intimate of spaces is what the Goldmark Front Room is all about. World class musicians, more used to playing concert halls than our tiny 60 seat auditorium, are coming to the gallery in Uppingham.

    We have been privileged to witness some magical performances from the likes of Richard Thompson, June Tabor, Sam Lee, This Is The Kit, Martin Simpson and many more.

    We're delighted to announce an intimate concert by Chris Wood in the Goldmark Front Room on Sunday 17th September 2023 at 7.30 pm (doors at 7 pm).

    In a world of soundbites and distractions Chris Wood is a truth seeker. His writing is permeated with love and wry intelligence, uplifting and challenging as he celebrates the sheer one-thing-after-anotherness of life. Tom Robinson and Chris Difford are fans while Stick In The Wheel and The Unthanks look to him as an influence. Winner of 6 BBC Folk Awards, he's played with The Royal Shakespeare Company and was a key member of The Imagined Village along with Billy Bragg and Martin Carthy. A wise and soulful craftsman, his concerts are a cliche free zone.

    Their exhibitions are always prepared with great care, with videos and catalogs accompanying the shows. I have not been able to visit the gallery in person but all the Goldmark team is splendid and highly professional, which makes the virtual shopping a great experience.
