Sometimes the word 'gallery' simply isn't enough. Yes, it's the core of a business dedicated to the best in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. But here the books turn into paintings, the paintings turn into films. Watch our short film to find out a bit more about us and what we do.
Honeychurch, Devon, 1985

Piper experimented with printmaking from as early as 1923 when he produced four wood engravings. Piper’s prints embody his love of Britain through their depiction of its art, architecture and topography. However frequently underpinning their design, as the artist Rigby Graham has indicated, are the elements of collage, construction and assemblage that featured in his modernist work of the early 1930s.

Signed, titled and dated watercolour with ink.
Exhibited at Bohun Gallery.
Exhibited at the John Piper and the Church exhibition at the Bohun Gallery. The exhibition was a celebration of HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee by The Friends of Dorchester Abbey. Illustrated in the exhibition catalogue - page 56.
Honeychurch is a small village in West Devon.
With about thirty inhabitants in 1066, the village is mentioned in the Domesday Book as "Honechercha". The description mentions five farms, which are still in operation in the 21st century.
The 12th-century church, dedicated to Mary, is largely in its original state, save for the addition of the 15th-century three-bell tower and 16th-century portico in the south facade. The name of the village refers to the previous building on this site, "Huna's church", founded in the 10th century by the Saxon landowner Huna.
