He lives in Wiltshire surrounded by books and pictures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCraigie Aitchison, born in Edinburgh in 1926, settled in London in 1962, where he lived in the same house until his death. He held his first solo exhibition in London in 1959, and had three major retrospective exhibitions: at the Serpentine Gallery (and tour) in 1981-2, in Glasgow in 1996, and at the Royal Academy in 2003.
