Alcide Théophile Robaudi was born in Nice in 1850 and was a French painter and illustrator. He trained under Gustav Bonardel and Flix Malard at the drawing school in Nice, he then continued his tuition at the School of Fine Arts in Paris in 1865.
A genre painter who was also influenced by the current orientalists. He was well known for the illustrations in deluxe editions of works by famous writers such as George Sand, Paul Verlaine, and Alexandre Dumas.
