Collection: David Suff   1955 - Present 

David Suff is a painter and printmaker, notably of garden landscapes using a meticulous, Pointillist-style technique and a rich palette. He was born in Exeter in 1955 and studied at the University of Leeds Department of Fine Art from 1973-7 and the Royal College of Art from 1978-81. He gained the Anstruther Award for drawing in 1980 and the Pimm’s Award for Drawing and Watercolour in 1987.

Suff’s work is almost always based upon observational drawing of the landscape, especially gardens, and is often created on hand-made paper. He has described how there is an important link between the symbol of the garden and spirituality in his work which attempts to illustrate mankind’s constant search for the divine.He has shown in a number of solo shows, in the UK and abroad.
