Emmanuel Mané-Katz (1894–1962) was a prominent Ukrainian-French expressionist painter of the School of Paris, celebrated for his vibrant depictions of Jewish heritage, rabbis, and Eastern European shtetl life. While primarily renowned for his dynamic group scenes and religious subjects, he also created striking individual portraits and character studies characterized by rich, undiluted colours and vigorous, gestural brushstrokes.
