Tracey Emin (b. 1963, Croydon) is a leading British contemporary artist linked to the Young British Artists movement. Raised in Margate, she trained at Maidstone College of Art and the Royal College of Art, becoming known for raw, autobiographical works like 'My Bed' and 'Everyone I Have Ever Slept With.'
Working across painting, neon, sculpture, and textiles, Emin explores trauma, sexuality, and loss. She was made a Dame in 2013, returned to Margate to found TKE Studios, and following bladder cancer treatment in 2020, has produced a powerful late body of work confronting mortality.
