"In the mid 1960's I did a print called 'Studio Tack Board', which was printed at the Curwen Press. So when I was asked to make a new print for Curwen Studio's 40th anniversary, I referred back to that print, and using some of the original postcards, from a set called 'Salut De Constantinople' I made this lithograph 'Studio Tack Board 2'" Peter Blake.

Sir Peter Blake, born in 1932 in Kent, was one of Britain’s first pioneers of the Pop Art movement whose emergence in the art world coincided with the birth of the ‘swinging sixties’. A contemporary of David Hockney and R. B. Kitaj, it was his design for Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967 which first propelled him beyond the world of art critics and well into the public eye.
