Sometimes the word 'gallery' simply isn't enough. Yes, it's the core of a business dedicated to the best in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. But here the books turn into paintings, the paintings turn into films. Watch our short film to find out a bit more about us and what we do.
Mr Rochester, 2002
Throughout her career, Paula Rego received numerous awards and accolades for her work, including being made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2010. Her work has been exhibited at major museums and galleries around the world, including the National Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Rego's contribution to the art world lies not only in her unique and powerful imagery but also in her ability to challenge traditional gender roles and social norms. Her work has inspired and influenced countless artists, and her legacy continues to be celebrated and studied today.
Signed and numbered PP 4/4 in pencil, lithograph.
Printer's Proof from the personal archive of Stanley Jones.
In late 2001 and early 2002, Rego worked with Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio. She produced a series of 25 lithographs based on Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
"Although Rego admires Stubbs, she has made no attempt to create a genuine equestrian portrait, but has produced a highly entertaining image of Rochester, part-Gothic and part-high camp. The hollow tree is pure Hollywood 'blasted heath', and the grandeur of the Hall is a token sketch. Yet out of one kind of model, mounted on another type of model, she has created an iconic image of high melodrama, an abiding version of a sinister, powerfully virile man whom, no matter how fictional and incorporeal he is, we all recognise. He is in every sense, most notably in artistic and graphic terms, a proper counterpart to Jane herself." T.G. Rosenthal, Paula Rego The Complete Graphic Work, 2003
Bears the blind stamp for the archive of Stanley Jones.
This lithograph has been lovingly framed by hand in the Goldmark Framing Workshop, in a pine cushioned moulding completed in lamp black paint with a renaissance museum wax. Float mounted using conservation mount, with all fully reversible hinges, set back from the glazing with a painted white obeche fillet. It is finished with AR70 non-reflective glazing, which protects the work from 70% of UV rays and gives the image remarkable clarity.

Astonishing place. Driving home I realised it was probably the best experience I've ever had in a shop/gallery. I'll be filling my house with their artworks for years to come. A unique place.
Just received my Kang-hyo Lee teacup. In perfect condition. I’m so happy with it and I think the international service offered by Goldmark is superb. The staff are so kind and extremely efficient and professional.
Goldmark have the most astonishing range, from the very affordable to the upper echelons of the market. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and really helpful. For anyone wanting to start a serious art collection within whatever budget this could be the best place to start.
There is no other gallery like Goldmark. I'm always amazed at both the stock they hold and their ability to regularly source really quite special pieces of art. That, with their friendly, knowledgeable & utterly unpretentious style makes them a delight to visit & to buy from.
Their delivery service is 100% reliable and the breadth of work displayed on their website pretty amazing. Above all, unlike other such dealers, I have never been under any pressure to buy. I recommend you give them a try.
We first visited Goldmark approximately 6 years ago and immediately liked the informality compared to previous gallery experiences. It’s a great place to start or build on your collection. Everyone at Goldmark is very friendly, knowledgeable and will give you as much or as little time as you wish.
Great pots, exquisitely displayed, expertly packed and shipped all over the world! The storytelling about potters and their methods has been extremely helpful, Goldmark is fabulous!
Always friendly and helpful staff with an amazing ever changing gallery of wonderful art and studio pottery! Would highly recommend a visit!
We have bought prints and pots from Goldmark over many years and our house is the richer for the collections we have built up. The framing and delivery service are faultless.
Their exhibitions are always prepared with great care, with videos and catalogs accompanying the shows. I have not been able to visit the gallery in person but all the Goldmark team is splendid and highly professional, which makes the virtual shopping a great experience.
